Wow, time has flown these past few weeks! Our baby boy is moving all of the time and his movements have been so big, he has kept me up for hours at a time through the night. I woke up at 4 AM today and could not sleep until 7 AM because he was so active! Then, like always, five minutes after I fell asleep, Peyton came into my room wanting cereal. Now I need coffee. :) I can't believe we will have another baby here in 12 weeks or less. We have a lot to do - mainly things I have been putting off, like sorting through all of Peyton's baby clothes to see what this new little dude can re-use. Gotta love hand-me-downs! We also need to get some sort of bassinet/small sleeper to keep in our tiny apartment bedroom. We have a tour scheduled at the hospital for next month....am I forgetting anything else? Haha. I am positive I am! Oh yes, the car seat. We need to get that in the car and I think we are going to take it to the local fire station so they can make sure we have it in there properly. You can't ever be too careful with the whole car seat safety thing. I'm also ready to go shopping for a couple fun things for him, too. Like some monthly stickers - check these out! They are adorable and a must-have if you ask me! :)

I also would LOVE a new diaper bag like this one:

Kind of pricey, but a Mommy can wish, right?

IT"S A BOY!

We found out this past Monday we will be having another boy! We were both pretty surprised! I was 99% sure it was a girl, just because this pregnancy has been so different than my last. All of my dreams involving the little one also told me it was a girl. We are so excited and I know Peyton will love having a little brother. It will also be great to be able to re-use some of Peyton's clothes, shoes, etc. I cannot wait to see if this little peanut looks/acts like his big brother, or if he will have a completely different personality and features. I love the suspense of it all! A friend of mine told me that with my hubby and 2 boys at home I will "remain Queen of the household". I like the way she thinks! ;)

In 2 weeks, I will be flying back to our home state of Michigan with Peyton, and the hubby will join us a week after we get there. I can't wait to see all of our family and friends that we have so dearly missed. We have been lucky to meet some very warm and welcoming people here in South Florida, too! I can't believe we have lived here for 6 months already. Time flies!

Has anyone out there ever received progesterone shots for their pregnancy? Ouch is all I have to say about those! I have had the injection twice now, once per week until I am 36 weeks along. They aren't that bad, except for a sore arm for a few days after the shot. Research has shown that women who have had one baby preterm are 2.5 times more likely to have another preemie baby. This injection helps to prolong the pregnancy. I am very grateful for this option because I was very nervous about delivering early again with the chance of the baby being sick and having to stay in the NICU. Our first baby was born 4 weeks early. His lungs were not fully developed, so he was in intensive care for 10 days. That was so hard for us and I feel for all parents who have to go through similar, if not worse, scenarios. So fingers crossed this injection will help this little peanut make it to at least 37 weeks! Other than the shots, I have been feeling great still! I have felt the baby move a couple of times now, which is always an amazing thing. Knowing that our baby is growing inside of me is still such a crazy thing for me to comprehend. It is such a miracle. :) 2 1/2 more weeks until we find out what we are having! We are so excited!

Week #15!! 5 more to go until we find out if it is a boy or girl. We are so excited! We recently decided we need to get a new stroller because ours has turned into a PIECE! I looked online today at double seater strollers and holy cow, are they pricey! I guess we should start saving our pennies now! We don't want to get a cheap one because that's what we did last time and it did not last us even 2 years. I can't imagine what it's going to be like with 2 kids! I think I will not go anywhere for the first year by myself - I'm just kidding of course. But I am super nervous to go somewhere alone the first time. Our 2-year-old minds pretty well, but he has started challenging us lately. Our latest challenge has been getting him to go to sleep on his own without having one of us in the room. Man, has that been tough! We have tried many things - nightlights, swats on the behind, peeking through the crack in the door and yelling at him every time he steps out of bed - and nothing has worked. My Aunt told me last night we should try giving him the "silent treatment" - no eye contact, no talking - just take his arm and lead him back to bed. She said it worked with her oldest son. So we shall give it a whirl tonight! The problem is, he has way too much will power for a tiny toddler and I have a feeling it will not work right away. We can only hope! :)

Baby #2 is finally at the end of the first trimester! My morning sickness is practically gone and I feel revived! I have tons more energy now and am not having to take naps every day. I had dreams of having a boy with my first pregnancy, and those dreams came true. This time, I have had one dream so far in which we had a baby boy, so it will be interesting to see if it holds true again! It would be great to have another boy because we have had so much fun with our first! We also saved all of his clothes, so it would be nice to be able to re-use those. As far as names go, we have talked about a few, but nothing is set in stone yet. Boy names are so hard! We only have one that we somewhat agree on. Girl names, on the other hand, are endless! I have my list narrowed down to 6 at this point, but I am positive there will be more soon! We have our 12-week ultrasound scheduled for this coming Wednesday. We can't wait to see the little peanut and are hoping big brother, Peyton, will be able to grasp the concept of a baby being in his mommy's tummy. :)

Baby #2 is kicking my butt! :) I have been "losing my lunch" way more often than with my first pregnancy. Today, I drank a bottle of water and immediately barfed. What the heck?! My diet consists of a not-so-healthy breakfast, such as Cinnamon Toast Cruch or Toaster Strudels, a lunch of pretzels, cheddar cheese slices, fruit, and ginger ale on most days, and varied, random dinners. My poor, starved hubby has been very understanding through all of this, chowing down on BLT's every week (which are not his favorite) and eating a lot more leftovers than what he is used to. When I am not hovering over the toilet, I normally make yummy, nutritious meals and like to test out new recipes. There has been no such activity in this house for about 6 weeks now. I just cannot stomach the smells of cooking. Thank God for prenatal vitamins and take-out! On a better note, my hubby bought me a cute, new shirt for my growing belly AND the tiny kumquat-sized fetus and I got to go see The Hunger Games today! So overall, a good day with only one date with the porcelain throne. :)
